Westside Elementary’s beloved playground is 30 years old, breaking down, and nearing closure. Recent safety inspections from playground specialists, district review, and insurance guidance have made it clear: the current structure is reaching the end of its lifespan. The students at Westside need a place to climb, create, and connect with each other.​ But together, we can build it for them. The PTO and community of Hood River is stepping up to build a new playground—breaking ground in 2026, with phase two in 2027.  But we need your help to make it happen! Westside Elementary’s beloved playground is 30 years old, breaking down, and nearing closure. With school district funds needed for critical building repairs, the students at Westside Elementary may soon lose a safe place to climb, create, and connect with each other. Childhood memories are built in places like this—on swings, slides, and in the friendships formed between them.

The PTO and the Hood River community are stepping up to build a new playground—breaking ground in 2026, with phase two in 2027. But we need your help to make it happen!
